Quilts are made from scraps of fabric that contain all the memories of the quilter's life. Fabric is gathered together and painstakingly arranged into a pleasing design, then sewn by hand with decorative stitches. The Sunray Home Cushion is pillow that has all the characteristics of a handmade quilt.
é Twenty-one separate strips of fabric are arranged into a sunray pattern and sewn together using a satin embroidery stitch that adds dimension and colour to the overall design. é Floral prints in dark and light colours, heart prints, solids, stripes, and dots all come together around a central medallion that bears the sentimental message "Home is Where the Heart Is". é The medallion has a curvilinear scalloped border, is trimmed with a white satin stitch, and is embellished with a red chain stitch. é The message is done in red using a wide satin stitch that has a hand done look.
