Lamp Gold Butterflies
Gilding is a technique that was perfected centuries ago in which gold or silver was pounded into thin sheets and used to embellish furniture and objets d' art. Today, gold leaf and silvering, as they're more commonly known, are used only on very high items, so metallic paint is often used as a substitute to achieve a similar result.
• The Gold Butterflies lamp takes the shape of a tall ginger jar with a high domed lid in the traditional style.
• The silver metallic base has a mottled aged appearance and is covered with glamorous butterflies in myriad colours that hover amongst branches of cherry blossoms with a realistic hand painted look.
• Imperial style heather grey shade has self-same banding.
