One of the best ceramic dishware made is the Platter - Large Shell. Compared to other seaside themed wares, this is true to the real thing which can be picked from the sand by the beach.
Besides the shape, it has horizontal, uneven grooves on the outer part and thicker vertical whorls on the inside. The shell is tapered to a conical, spiraled end on one side while the other side just narrowed to a close, like most shells are.
The shell is painted in light azure, reminiscent of a real shell found in the beach. It is also given a porcelain-like sheen.
This, in itself, would be a wonderful as a display already. Try putting it beside the ear and it just might give off the sounds of waves crashing in the beach. But more importantly, Platter - Large Shell is big enough to hold three or four servings of salad or even some seafood chowder.
