Platter Pastel Quatrefoil
The quatrefoil pattern is supposed to be one of the most loved and revered in ancient styles of not just art and architecture but it supposedly combines symmetry in everything. This platter takes this design from the past and gives it another twist. Embedded within the pattern are backdrop prints from old newspapers, some great paisley from old tapestries and above all the look of old lacquer. The yellowing paint, the rubbed off effect, are all great for giving this piece the period look. This platter has this burnished feel, a golden hue that runs through it and despite its rather small size - just about 16 cm in diameter, it manages to make its presence. It may be used variously - for placing other decorative on top, maybe candles, or for serving any kind of dry food item. It would look equally wonderful as a standalone piece as well. It is lightweight and about 2cm in thickness. Placed on the coffee table or the dining table, it will look wonderful with other shabby chic items or a vintage feel decor setting.
