From top to bottom, there are layers of intricate motifs and complex techniques evident. Box collectors will enjoy its uniqueness and anyone who loves French design will love to receive it as a gift. • The lid has bead trim that surrounds the outer edge and a raised embellishment near the center • The handle is a large stylized acanthus leaf cluster that sits on a bed of acanthus leaves in bas relief • The box begins with a scalloped "cornice" over a row of beads • The base is beveled supporting a row of acanthus leaves and the body of the box, embellished with thumb print fluting • Silver and putty distressed finish gives this box a truly aged appearance
